Professor Leila Ammar-Keskes
University Hospital Professor, Faculty of Medicine of Sfax – Director, Human Molecular Genetics Laboratory (LGMH)
is a University Hospital Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Sfax and Director of the Human Molecular Genetics Research Laboratory (LGMH). Since 2014, she has led the LGMH, which brings together several research groups working on monogenic and multifactorial diseases, including developmental and sexual differentiation disorders, reproductive disorders, neuromuscular disabilities, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic disorders.
She supervises numerous early-career researchers investigating the genetic and epigenetic determinants of male and female infertility, as well as ovarian and testicular cancers.
Since 2019, Professor Ammar-Keskes has been a member of the Tunisian network led by the European Project Management Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and serves as National Contact Point for Health within the Horizon Europe programme. She previously coordinated the H2020 “MICAfrica” project, Towards a North-African Consortium of the Human Microbiome (NACHM) through strengthening capacities in microbiome analysis for human diseases at the University of Sfax.
